Introducing RaceCapture - Data Acquisition and Control
We are excited to announce our newest project: RaceCapture - A powerful, flexible Data Acquisition and Control System.
Impact
RaceCapture transcends most traditional "Data Logging" systems by virtue of its powerful processor and emphasis on outputs as well as inputs. The ability to perform Data Acquisition while controlling other devices and systems, coupled with flexible end-user customization, will powerfully differentiate RaceCapture from other data logging systems.
Significance While the official application of RaceCapture is focused towards Race Car Data Acquisition, its powerful processor combined with a wealth of inputs and outputs also makes RaceCapture a general purpose automotive computer, one capable of handling many different tasks - limited only by your imagination. If the question is "Can RaceCapture do ...?" the answer will likely be 'Yes' and often with little to no external hardware support necessary.
What an eventful 24 hours of Lemons! Sadly, while towing the race car from Seattle, WA to Thunderhill Raceway in CA, our team captain, his wife, and another team-mate were involved in a bad roll-over accident, totalling both the tow vehicle and trailer. Thankfully, our friends were only badly shaken and completely uninjured! Even "Pujo!", our Peugeot 505 turbo, only received cosmetic damage, simply rendering it more "lemony". When we received word of the accident though, I and another team-member were already over halfway to the event. After some deliberation, we decided to continue, hoping to at least experience the gist of the event and do some 'recon' in the process. We also let out the word that we were "dressed up with nowhere to go" and hoped another team out there would take pity on us and let us help with their cars or maybe even drive! Fate smiled upon us and the Dead Smurfsanswered our call and adopted us! Whether in the driver's seat or wrenching on the car, the weekend was amazing. Don't miss our little video!

We recently acquired a 1973 Datsun 240z as our next R&D platform. It spent it's former life performing road race duties in SCCA Improved Touring, so the mods have been limited to suspension and a full cage.
It's patiently awating brake upgrades, triple weber side-drafts and, of course: conversion to Megajolt crank fired ignition. We will have a special de-commissioning ceremony for the old points-based distributor. :)
