I was already running the V3 unit and was more than satisfied with its stable performance.
Upgrading to the V4 was literally a snap! All the wires are in the exact same location as the previous version. If I had so chosen to, I could have just kept the original molex connector as is and connect it straight up to the V4. But then I wouldn't have been able to take advantage of the additional Hard Rev Limiter and Aux input connection in a single clean uninterrupted harness. As stated, the switch over was VERY easy: cut each wire one at a time, crimp & insert. repeat.
After making the necessary connections (internal Hard Rev Limiter), I was up and running in no time. Brought up the new V4 Configurator software and loaded up my previous ignition map w/o a hitch. Started up the car and was off!
The unit is 2/3rds the size of the V3 unit and so is even less conspicuous. My setup is one of the few that is a bit off of the beaten path in its setup with regards to the Megajolt Lite Ignition configuration: 4 Coil On Plugs setup w/ the coils igniting in a waste spark pattern signaled by 2 individual EDIS units through a single V4 Megajolt Lite Jr system. Suffice it to say, it runs flawlessly!
This system far surpasses previous MSD ignitions I've used over the years in prior setups in many ways but especially in its affordability.
