RaceCapture App 1.6.0 released! Improved analysis, faster dashboard and more!

Today Autosport Labs is happy to announce RaceCapture App version 1.6.0, which is packed with all sorts of new features and improvements! We’ve added new features to the dashboard, analysis tools and configuration screens, along with some basic performance and stability fixes.

Faster RPM Gauge!

Performance is a feature, and we’re always on the lookout for places to speed up the RaceCapture App. For this release we rewrote the large RPM gauge and made it super smooth and fast, even on slower hardware:

Improved Analysis Tools!

While comparing data by distance is the most common and best way to view data, there are often times when you need to view your data over time instead. Dyno runs, testing before a race in a parking lot or suspension tuning are all situations where graphing by time is often more useful. We’ve added this feature to the analysis tools, simply click on the arrow at the top left of the graph to switch to time, click again to switch back. It’s that easy 🙂

Advanced Bluetooth Configuration

Advanced BT Config

In order to improve Bluetooth security, we’ve added the ability for you to set your RaceCapture/Pro’s bluetooth module name and passkey. Under the wireless settings there is an ‘Advanced’ button that displays the configuration options for the bluetooth module. Note: This is only for firmware version 2.9.0 and greater, you cannot view the values after they have been set, and updating the settings will remove any existing pairings to phones/tablets. (You can always change the values via USB if you forget.)

Improved Homepage!

Improved homepage

In order to avoid confusion about what tracks are saved to RaceCapture/Pro, we removed the home screen ‘Tracks’ button. We also changed the ‘Dashboard’ icon to ‘Race’ and ‘Configuration’ to ‘Setup’. We’re hoping this improves usability and clarity to the RaceCapture App, making it easier to use.

And more!

Along with those big features, we have a few smaller improvements  in 1.6.0:

  • Dashboard is now navigable via keyboard arrow keys (Thanks Gil Markham!)
  • Addressed an app lockup issue when telemetry is enabled.
